Killing-spree suspect takes legal action against Uber

Uber has faced many lawsuits in its short history but the latest is perhaps the most bizarre of all.

Former Uber driver Jason Dalton, accused of killing six in a mass shooting last month in Kalamazoo, is blaming the ride-sharing company for his incarceration.

"I’m currently in prison because of Uber," Dalton said in the hand written lawsuit.

"I worked years as a Uber contractor and they ripped me off, never paid me back wages or overtime. They made me work when I was sick and didn’t let me spend time with my two children."

He even complained Uber never invited him to any corporate parties.

Dalton is suing for $10 million, adding that the company is responsible for his ‘psychological damage.’

Dalton is accused of killing six people on February 20 in Kalamazoo between taxi rides across the city.

He reportedly told police he became ‘possessed’ by the Uber app on his phone.

He is currently undergoing evaluation to determine whether he is mentally fit to stand trial.

"It’s hard to know how to respond to someone who refuses to take responsibility for his own actions. Our hearts go out to the victims’ families who have to live with the consequences of his terrible crimes," Uber said in a statement.
