Korea offers ski discounts
Korea Tourism Organisation, in association with Korean ski resorts, ice and snow festival organisers and local tourist attractions, has released a ‘Winter in Korea’ discount coupon booklet with savings of up to 50%.
Korea’s ski season runs from mid-December to mid-March with the best ski months being January and February when the greatest snowfalls occur.
Korea will host the 2018 Winter Olympics and many of the ski resorts are upgrading their accommodation and ski facilities in preparation.
Yongypong Resort and Dragon Valley Hotel, one of the most popular resorts with skiers, is offering 10% off the room rate as well as 30% off ski gondola and ski equipment rental and 50% off its Peak Island Water Park .
Resorts in Gangwon Province on the east coast, such as Elysian Ganchon, Alpensia, Phoenix Park, O2 Resort, Vivaldi Park and Welli Hilli Park, also have special offers.
Other resorts closer to capital city Seoul are Jisan Forest Resort, 40 minutes away, and Konjiam Resort.
Major snow and ice festivals taking place include ice-fishing and ice-carving exhibitions.
Discount coupons are also being offered for major theatre performances in Seoul.
