Kuala Lumpur lost and found: Three Boeing 747 jets

Many items are left unclaimed after languishing at lost and found offices in airports around the world.
Cellphones, laptops and even whole suitcases are sometimes forgotten but in Kuala Lumpur (KLIA), the owner of three unclaimed commercial planes is being sought.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, operators of KLIA has put out a newspaper notice in the Malaysian Star giving the unknown owner of three Boeing 747-200F aircraft 14 days to collect the planes.
"If you fail to collect the aircraft within 14 days of the date of this notice, we reserve the right to sell or otherwise dispose of the aircraft," the notice said.
Under Civil Aviation Regulations the owner of the jets could be subject to long term storage and parking fees.
The notice did not disclose how long the aircraft had been parked at the airport, but airport authorities have been trying to locate the owner for some time.
Zainol Mohd Isa, general manager of Malaysia Airports said: "I don`t know why they are not responding. There could be many reasons. Sometimes it could be because they have no money to continue operations," Zainol said, adding that the owner is thought to be an international company.
The three aircraft comprise two passenger jets and a cargo plane, Zainol said.
