What does it take to have an award-winning airport VIP lounge?
Try work stations, meeting rooms and even shower service.
Those were among elements cited when the LAN Airlines’ Neruda VIP lounge at Santiago International Airport was named the best in Latin America and the Caribbean by Priority Pass members.
Factors such as amenities, comfort and atmosphere were all taken into account in the judging.
Armando Valdivieso, CEO Passenger, LAN Airlines, said:
“We are very proud to receive this important award from experienced, frequent travelers from all parts of the world. This award strengthens our commitment to keep working to provide our passengers a service characterized by excellence.”
The Santiago-based LAN Airlines is Chile’s major airline and South America’s 2nd largest. Previously flying as Lan Chile, it was re-branded as LAN Airlines in 2004.
LAN started in 1929 and took over Ladeco (Chile’s second airline) in 1995 and Fast Air 3 years later. With a fleet of over 125 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, LAN flies to Latin America, Mexico, North America, Europe and the Caribbean, and is one of the few South American airlines flying to Australia and New Zealand.
LAN has been voted the best Central/South America and Caribbean based airline by the U.S. Official Airline Guide six times, including in 2006.
