Lastminute.com reveals rush for winter holidays
A poll of 1,000 workers by Lastminute.com found that 71% still have more than half of their annual holiday entitlement to take before the end of the year.
The online agent believes millions of Brits are set to take their main annual holiday this winter.
Lastminute.com UK Managing Director John Bevan said: “The poor summer weather this year has left people desperate to experience sunnier climes before 2008.”
“Many workers have yet to take the bulk of their entitlement, so we are seeing people booking long holidays in their droves for the rest of the year.”
Lastminute.com says its bookings figures show that 35% of sales over the last four weeks are for holidays departing in the last two weeks of December.
