Lastminute.com shares slump again
Shares in the online retailer Lastminute.com dropped by some 15 per cent yesterday after it admitted it was being affected by “spiralling costs”.
Shares in the company dropped 19p to 107p after a similar decline the previous day, as it announced plans to shed some 350 jobs and shut 10 offices across Europe. The Independent newspaper quotes one broker as saying: “I’m not particularly confident they have their costs under control.”
Elsewhere, there were mixed fortunes for travel and tourism shares amid small movements for the main equity markets. The FTSE 100 index added 5.3 points to close at 4413.4, and the FTSE had a similar day, adding five points to end the day at 5956.8.
