Lewsey takes over at Peter Deilmann
Mark Lewsey has taken over as UK & Ireland managing director of specialist cruise company Peter Deilmann following the retirement of Richard Esdale.
Lewsey, who joins from his own marketing and sales consultancy business, previously worked for Airtours Sun Cruises, Amadeus and Silversea Cruises.
He reports to Gisa and Hedda Deilmann, owners of Peter Deilmann.
The company said Lewsey’s appointment will give greater focus to product, marketing and sales development. He will be responsible for expanding the programme of marketing and sales initiatives with travel partners.
Lewsey said: “I am delighted to return to the cruise industry and to join Peter Deilmann as it enters such an exciting period of development. As a leading deluxe river and ocean cruise operator in the UK & Ireland, with a substantial presence in Germany and the USA, this opportunity is an ideal step for me.”
Gisa and Hedda Deilmann said: “We are extremely pleased that someone with Mark’s experience and calibre is heading our UK & Ireland operation. Peter Deilmann River & Ocean Cruises has been extremely successful and we are determined to further increase our market share. Mark’s previous experience and enthusiasm is key to the next stage in our development.”
