Lisbon increases its MICE appeal
Lisbon has leap-frogged six cities to become the ninth most popular destination for international meetings.
The Portuguese capital was ranked only 15th in the International Congress & Convention Association ratings in 2012.
Vitor Costa, director-general of the Lisbon tourism association, said: "Increasing business tourism to Lisbon is high on our agenda and we continue work hard to raise the city’s profile for major events internationally. We are delighted at this result against stiff competition from other cities and see this as a great incentive to ensure we maintain excellence and improve our offering year on year."
The Post Office said that last year Lisbon was the most affordable city in the Eurozone.
