London Heathrow strike action suspended
Strike action at London Heathrow Airport has been suspended to consider an improved pay offer for 800 restricted mobility assistance workers.
The strike was set to last through this week.
It affects workers employed by Wilson James who assist restricted mobility passengers at the airport.
They will now be balloted on the new pay offer.
The halt in the dispute comes after strikes began in April with workers claiming they are paid l10% less than colleagues at London Gatwick.
“Following an improved offer from Wilson James, Unite has suspended strikes in order to ballot its members,” union Unite said.
Heathrow handles thousands of restricted mobility passengers daily.
