Louisiana’s last riverboat casino
Louisiana’s last riverboat casino opened when Pinnacle Entertainment unveiled its $365 million gambling resort in Lake Charles.
The L’Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino marked the 15th and final riverboat casino allowed by state law.
The casino’s 26-story hotel has 743 rooms, suites and private villas. The resort also has 30,000 square feet of gambling space and a 26,000 square foot conference center.
The casino ends a chapter in local history. It marks the end of the riverboat casinos, which were first allowed in late 1993.
The Lake Charles market already has two riverboat complexes run by Harrah’s Entertainment and Isle of Capri Casinos.
