Lufthansa backs Paralympic documentary
GOLD – You can do more than you think is a documentary film which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival, and was aired this week at the Lufthansa Technik hangar in Germany.
As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, which mainly focuses on promoting the arts and culture, the Lufthansa Group supported the production of the film and helped with transporting the film crew.
The documentary follows the journey of the Australian wheelchair racer Kurt Fearnley, the blind Kenyan runner Henry Wanyoike and the paralysed German swimmer Kirsten Bruhn, to the 2012 Paralympics in London.
Each athlete reflects what people are capable of achieving if they have the willpower and determination, regardless of any disability.
Director Michael Hammon reveals the fascination, strength and zest for life that these athletes exude as well as their struggle against despair and social prejudice.
