Lycos.co.uk has launched a new holiday channel for flights, packaged holidays and late deals.

Users will be able to search for holidays using a range of personal preferences, such as resort facilities required and maximum transfer times. There is also destination information provided, including the DG&G Guides, normally only available to travel agents.

The new channel has been built with Rapid Travel Solutions.

Commenting on the launch, Allison Turner, Lycos Travel Channel Manager said: “We expect to see an increase in traffic to the travel channel, as well as an increase in the conversion rate from users searching for holidays to actually booking holidays with Lycos. Rapid Solutions will provide holidays from a total of 21 tour operators and that gives our users an enormous amount of choice.”

Alex Kovach, Managing Director of Lycos UK said: “The advanced features of the search engine provided by Rapid will enable us to target the right holidays at the right people, ultimately enabling Lycos to sell more holidays and increase revenue.”
