Malaysia Airlines appoints new operations chief
Malaysia Airlines has named Captain Izham Ismail as new chief operations officer.
Effective from today he joins from subsidiary MASWings where he served as chief executive officer and started his career with Malaysia Airlines as a pilot flying Fokker 27, Airbus 330 and Boeing 747 aircraft.
“With close to 36 years of experience in the aviation industry and having just completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School, I am confident he will lead the operations and engineering divisions to new levels of excellence. Being our home grown talent, I look forward to working closely with him in delivering operational excellence to the entire Group,” said Malaysia Airlines CEO Peter Bellew.
Captain Izham previously served at Malaysia Airlines as director of operations from 2012 to 2015.
He is being replaced as MASWings CEO by Aminuddin Zakaria.
