Man tried to board flight with large arsenal of firearms
A passenger faces criminal charges after turning up to board a flight with a large arsenal of firearms.
He had three firearms including two semi-automatic rifles, ammo, a bulletproof vest, taser, a knife and fake law enforcement ID.
Seretse Clouden, 42 was attempting to fly to Fort Lauderdale from New Jersey in late December.
The items were packed in his checked bags.
Transportation Security Administration officers initially found just ammunition but a more detailed check of all his bags spotted the haul of weaponry.
“Transportation security officers are highly trained and catches such as this illustrate the point,” a TSA spokesperson said.
As a convicted felon he is initially charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and fraudulent possession of an ID document.
Clouden is being held without bail until his trial.
Online data lists Clouden as an ex-marine and a former executive protection officer with Homeland Security.
If guilty he could receive 15 years in prison.
