Management reshuffle for UCTG
United Co-op Travel Group general manager, Mike Greenacre, has appointed a second in command to allow him more time to work on group strategy.
Alistair Rowland, who has been with the company for four years and is currently general manager for Co-op travel retail, will take the newly-created post of general manager – retail distribution.
It means he will oversee the group’s retail shops plus Barrow Travel (Cumbria-based business specialising in cruise holidays) and Apollo Travel (business, incentive travel and call centre based in Rotherham). Both were bought in recent years and are headed by Claire Taylor and Alison Westall respectively.
Mr Greenacre said he made the appointment to free up some more of his time to concentrate on strategic issues faced by the group as it continues to make acquisitions.
