Mandalay Bay renumbers floors associated with deadly shooting rampage

Saturday, 08 Feb, 2018 0

MGM Resorts said it will renumber several floors at the Mandalay Bay including the floor where Stephen Paddock carried out the deadly October 1 shooting rampage.

Floors 31, 32, 33 and 34 will be changed to floors 56, 57, 58 and 59.

MGM Resorts says this better aligns to existing numbered floors 60, 61 and 62.

The company didn’t say whether the number change was a direct result of the shooting which claimed the lives of 58 people attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas.

The renumbering will take place this month.

Paddock was staying in a suite on the 32nd floor at the time holed up with a huge arsenal of weapons.

Meanwhile an Arizona man who sold ammo to Paddock has been charged with manufacturing armor-piercing bullets.

Unused bullets recovered from the suite where Paddock stayed contained the fingerprints of ammunition dealer Douglas Haig, court documents said.

Haig didn’t have a license to make the bullets and admitted supplying Paddock with 720 rounds of tracer ammunition.
