Mark Warner pulls out of Turkey
Mark Warner has confirmed it has pulled out of Turkey less than a year after hosting the Advantage Conference at its Sea Garden Resort in Bodrum.
The all-inclusive operator declined to say why it had dropped the resort but a spokeswoman said: "Mark Warner has decided the time is right to bring our current operations in Turkey to an end.
"We are in the process of contacting guests who have already booked Sea Garden resort in Bodrum and we are sure they will be happy to accept alternative holidays at our other resorts in Rhodes, Kos, Lemnos, Sardinia and Corsica."
She said the operator wasn’t looking to replace the resort with another this season. "However, we are always looking for new properties," she added.
Managing director David Hopkins said: "Mark Warner have enjoyed a long and happy history of offering holidays to Turkey but the time is right for us to leave for the time being. We certainly hope to return in the future."
Last week, Thomas Cook revealed it had cut its capacity to Turkey by 29% this summer following terrorist attacks in Istanbul and Ankara.
Yesterday a bomb blast in Ankara, the country’s capital, killed at least 28 and injured dozens more.
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office warned of further attacks which could hit tourists.
