McCarran airport expansion will fuel increased visitors
UK visitation to always-popular Las Vegas grew by 8.6% to 418,000 last year, up from 385,000, but CVB officials see even bigger growth this year with several developments that include British Airways’ announcement of their new Gatwick to Vegas route.
That launches in October and will make Vegas even more accessible than ever with 20 direct flights there each week.
"To facilitate the increase in international visitors to the city, McCarran International Airport is about to open its new £1.5 billion (about USD$2.4 billion) terminal 3 development on June 27," says a press release.
"The UK continues to be the largest overseas market to Las Vegas and the opening of new Terminal 3 at McCarran airport recognises the importance of the international market on the future growth of the destination," said Russell Meara, sales and marketing director for the LVCVA.
