McIlroy arrives for showdown with Scott
Rory McIlroy has arrived in Sydney prior to the start of the Emirates Australian Open at the Royal Sydney Golf Club this week.
The Australian Open will provide the only opportunity for Australian golf fans to see McIlroy take on local hero, US Masters champion and world number two, Adam Scott.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, said the New South Wales Government, through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, secured McIIroy to play exclusively in Sydney at the Australian Open.
Evergreen Peter Senior will be defending his Australian Open title against golfers of the calibre of Jason Day, Aaron Baddeley, Robert Allenby, John Senden and Geoff Ogilvy.
Golf Australia CEO Stephen Pitt, said: "The strength in this field is its depth and the international flavour."
