Some creative packages being offered by innovative hotels:

—The Raleigh in historic Miami Beach is celebrating their 70th anniversary and hosting packages that include an R+R “Raleigh and Romance” offer that includes early check-in, a US$70 food and beverage credit, late check-out and a $70 gift card valid at local boutiques.

—For those that want to get a jump on the 2010/2011 winter ski and snowboard season, the Pan Pacific’s two properties in Whistler, B.C. (home of the 2010 Winter Games) are offering a special “Early Booking Offer,” which entitles guests to one free night for a four night reservation. Rates start at CAD$299 per night, for a Studio Valley View Suite at Pan Pacific Mountainside; however if guests book early for a minimum four night stay (by November 15, 2010), they will receive 25 percent off room rates, bringing that nightly room rate down to CAD$224.25 per night.

— More than 20 special packages have been designed to help guests “make the very most of their Grand Hotel stay no matter when you visit during our 2010 season,” says the hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan where cars are not allowed, and the horse and carriage and bicycle are favoured modes of transportation. Holidays, golf, antiques, the arts, wine appreciation, needlepoint, gardening, and live jazz are just some of the themes around which new packages are based. Virtually all feature significant added value, special events and reduced room rates, says the hotel.

—The Best Western Denver Southwest in the suburbs of the Rocky Mountain foothills is offering a second night for US$52.80. Stay Friday or Saturday, and the second consecutive night (Saturday or Sunday) is $52.80. The offfer may be valid for select dates only. All rates are based on availability and subject to change without notice. Additional restrictions may apply.

—The Glenn in Atlanta, voted one of the “Top Ten Sexiest Hotels in America” by TripAdvisor, has a “Luckie in Love” package that includes mimosas before noon, a “sumptuous breakfast for two,” a lottery ticket, champagne, a special treat on arrival and other perks. Rates start at US$170 a night.
