Minor Hotel Group unveils Mekong river cruises business
Thailand based Minor Hotel Group is getting shipshape for the Mekong river cruising market.
It unveiled Mekong Kingdoms, featuring a fleet of five vessels plying the Mekong from Northern Thailand to the UNESCO heritage city of Luang Prabang in Laos.
Flagship is the ‘Bohème’, which has 13 luxury cabins and departs Chiang Rai, near Minor’s Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp and Resort, for the journey to Laos.
During the cruise, land tours offered include jungle treks, visits to the popular Pak Ou caves, mountain biking and cultural and creative pursuits.
Exclusive private cruising is available aboard the vessel ‘Gypsy’ a two-cabin cruiser sailing bespoke journeys along the Mekong for up to four passengers.
Other vessels will offer short day and sunset cruises and private party charters on the water around Luang Prabang.
"Our guests are travellers who desire not just a unique travel experience, but one that enhances the ambiance of the destinations," said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels,
"Mekong Kingdoms cruises harken back to the days when the journey is savoured as much as the destination."
Minor also operates Anantara Overnight Cruises which sails from central Bangkok to Thailand’s ancient capital of Ayutthaya.
