Minor Hotels announces new Anantara China Hotel
Minor Hotels has signed a new Anantara resort in northeastern Zhejiang Province.
In collaboration with JV partner Funyard Minor JV Co., Anantara Shaoxing Resort is set to open next year.
The luxury China resort is perched on the slopes of Mount Kuaiji, and will be the first internationally-branded resort in Shaoxing.
Anantara Shaoxing Resort will form part of Taoyuanli Health and Wellness Town – an integrated mixed-use community.
It features landscaped courtyards, playgrounds, restaurants, organic supermarkets, and health and wellness facilities.
The Anantara China resort will have 120 keys with design inspired by a multi-deck luxury yacht.
The property will have an all-day dining restaurant, a tearoom, a specialty restaurant, and a 700-square-metre banquet area.
The wellness-centric resort will feature a hot spring-fed outdoor swimming pool and a water landscape platform to Anantara Spa.
Additionally, there will be a special concert area, art gallery and library.
“Shaoxing is blessed with rich cultural heritage and pristine nature, making it an attractive tourist destination,” said Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO.
“Shaoxing is a key city for the integrated development of the south coast of Hangzhou Bay. It has a vital strategic position, with plans in place to link it up with Hangzhou, Ningbo and, eventually, Shanghai,” said Mr. Sam Gao, President of Funyard Minor JV Co., (China). “The city’s tourism industry is an important pillar of the province’s economic development plans, and the arrival of Anantara fills a gap in the luxury hospitality and wellness segment and ensures Shaoxing is on track to achieve broader development goals.”
Anantara Shaoxing Resort will become the brand’s fourth property in China.
