Modern day ‘Mary and Josephs’ queue up for rooms
Modern-day ‘Mary and Josephs’ are queuing up to take advantage of a hotel offer in its sixth year.
Travelodge has been offering a free room, with modern-day manger, in one of its 500 hotels for couples named Mary and Joseph since 2006.
And now it claims couples are contacting them from August onwards asking if the offer will be running.
The hotel chain said the offer is available from Christmas Eve until January 6 2014.
Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman, said: "This year we have had couples emailing us as early as August asking if they can take up the offer this festive season.
"On average we have 30 couples called Mary and Joseph stay with us during the festive season."
