Figures show bookings have leapt to the city by 136% year on year. Edinburgh has also seen a huge 69% increase.
The British seaside is enjoying a renaissance, says Lastminute.com, with bookings to Brighton up 63%, Blackpool 88%, Scarborough 37%, Bournemouth 33% and Newquay an enormous 125%.
The site notes that serviced apartments are also generating interest Managing director John Bevan said:“The UK is expected to benefit from the current credit crunch with many customers deciding on a holiday at home as one of their breaks this year. We want to make sure that we offer the best domestic holiday products and have increased our product to meet popular demand.”
