More Disney parks ‘inevitable’ in China, worldwide
Disney CEO Bob Iger has mooted the possibility of more theme parks around the world.
Buoyed by strong quarterly earnings, Iger sees ‘opportunities to expand’ the company’s parks division in China and elsewhere.
"We think there are opportunities to expand in China. There may also be opportunities in other parts of the world," Iger said
"The more popular our IP is, the more in-demand it is in our parks," Iger said during an earnings call.
"It doesn’t necessarily mean we’re going to build something anytime very soon but we’re going to look."
The company is ‘constantly engaging in conversations’ and it is ‘inevitable’ that new parks will come to other countries, although there was no hint of another US location is being discussed.
Revenues at Disney Parks and Resorts division were up 13% to $4.88 billion.
