More problems for P&O’s Pacific Star
A TV3 News New Zealand report this morning says that the P&O cruise liner Pacific Star which was battered by a powerful storm and damaged after it left Auckland a month ago has run into more problems.
The report says that the Pacific Star was scheduled to depart from Auckland at 11:00pm last night on a new South Pacific cruise, after extensive repairs to the vessel in Brisbane, but, as passengers were lining the rails waving goodbye to friends and relatives standing on Prince’s Wharf, an announcement came over the ship’s loudspeaker system that the sailing would be delayed.
The announcement cited a “technical problem” for the delay and reportedly the ship remains tied to the wharf this morning.
A statement just received from P&O makes no mention of when the Pacific Star will be leaving.
