Movers and shakers: Hayman and Pan Pacific
Hayman, Australia’s private island resort in the Great Barrier Reef, has appointed Shane Green as general manager.
New Zealand-born, Green has spent 20 years working with Ritz-Carlton, Starwood, Hilton Hotels Corporation as well as independent hotels and resorts.
Prior to joining Hayman, Green was area general manager and vice president operations with Cipriani US, which also incorporated the positions of general manager for Cipriani Residences at 55 Wall Street in New York and The Tower Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.
He will be working with Hayman managing director Lloyd Donaldson in overseeing significant projects and enhancements on the island, including the development of new beach villas scheduled for unveiling in December 2010 and Hayman Private Residences and Hayman Marina Residences.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed Nigel Roberts as vice president, area operations, Oceania.
Based in Sydney, Roberts heads the group’s operations in Oceania as Pan Pacific Hotels expands the portfolio of both its Pan Pacific and ParkRoyal brands in Australia and New Zealand.
Roberts brings 36 years of international experience to the role, the last 26 of which he spent in Asia with the Mandarin Oriental, Starwood and Langham hotels in a number of general management and corporate positions.
He spent two years in Melbourne as general manager of Sheraton Towers Southgate before taking on regional responsibility for six Sheraton Hotels in Malaysia and a pre-opening in Hanoi, Vietnam.
More recently he was responsible for the establishment of the business and operational components of the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort in Singapore during its pre-opening.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group recently announced its entry into Australia with ParkRoyal hotels in Parramatta and Darling Harbour Sydney opening in November 2010, and Pan Pacific Perth opening in January 2011.
