Mystery arrival at Heathrow during December passenger boom
Millions of passengers at Heathrow could find themselves surprised by a Secret Santa as a new marketing intiative sees designer presents handed out.
The airport says it wants to make the experience "smooth with a touch of Christmas magic" for the 4.3 million passengers using Heathrow in December.
The gifts given randomly by Santa Claus will include iPads, designer watches and Hamley’s teddies. Clues to the identity of the daily surprises will be posted on Heathrow’s Secret Santa Facebook page.
Friday 21 December is expected to see the most departures from Heathrow with 105,000 passengers heading off for Christmas abroad.
Elves will be handing out mince pies and 100 bottles of fragrance from World Duty Free.
Carol Stokes, head of passenger experience at Heathrow said; "We want to make sure the 4.3 million passengers travelling through Heathrow during December have a smooth journey with a touch of Christmas magic".
