Nelson Mandela Bay were one of many tourism bodies exhibiting at Indaba 2007.
Three places have been united to form what is now called Nelson Mandela Bay:
** Port Elizabeth;
** Uitenhage; and
** Despatch
Tarynne Goldberg, the Trade Promotions Co-ordinator of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism says that the city has a wide variety of attractions, from history and heritage, beaches and wildlife viewing, to entertainment and conferencing.
One of the areas major attractions is the Addo Elephant National Park, offering a unique game-viewing experience.
A new five star hotel is currently being built in the city to develop Nelson Mandela Bay’s reputation as a conference destination.
The city is the gateway to the Eastern Cape region, and is South Africa’s fifth largest city, with long stretches of beaches.
Nelson Mandela Bay is a melting pot of cultures as it was the first meeting point of the Khoisan, Xhosa, English, Dutch and German people in South Africa.
