new aircraft means non stop India route in 2008
Qantas Airways has formalised its plans to commence non-stop operations from Sydney into Mumbai by early February 2008,allocating an A330-200 LR to service the route.
This model Airbus aircraft will be able to fly non-stop from Sydney into Mumbai instead of flying the current route that includes a stopover at Darwin.
The airline will fly this route three times a week as the present schedule.
Speaking on this development Khursheed Lam, Qantas Manager, India & South Asia said, “We have recently formalised this plan.”
“With the new aircraft, we will be operating non-stop both directions without the Darwin stop.”
“Our research says that businessmen want to travel non-stop.”
The present aircraft in operation is the A330-300, which requires a stopover at Darwin due to capacity constraints and weather compatibility.
