New Horizons For Australia’s Leading Event Venue
The Palladium at Crown, venue for some of Australia’s most prestigious and glamorous events, has undergone a complete transformation.
With new custom-designed carpets and wall panelling, new table settings and accessories, the multi-functional venue has also had a $1.6 million technology upgrade by Staging Connections, to deliver the latest in digital and virtual entertainment presentations.
Covering 2076 square metres of pillar-less space, 6.8-metre ceilings throughout and a large extendable stage, the Palladium at Crown has hosted many high profile major events including the TV Week Logies, The Brownlow Medal, the Grand Prix Ball, the Million Dollar Lunch and most recently, the Allan Border Medal and the Australia Day Luncheon.
Following the major refurbishment in January 2006, the luxurious and stunningly styled venue is now set with Australia’s most up to date audiovisual technology in sound, lighting and special effects. In addition, Crown’s team of chefs has specially created menus that showcase new chinaware, table runners, vases and accessories that have been sourced from all over the world – further enhancing the Crown experience for clients and their guests.
“For us, it is important that every event in the Palladium becomes a unique experience for our clients and their guests,†says Walter Wagner, Executive General Manager, Food & Beverage, Crown Limited. “A successful event is about more than space and technology. Different components will have to be blended into one, to create a truly memorable experience,†he added.
To achieve this, Crown is offering the services and talents of Peter Wynne as Creative Director for all major events taking place in the Palladium. As an Executive Producer from Channel Nine, Peter has been involved in many major television productions.
He will conceptualise all aspects of the event, from table settings and creative theming, through to audiovisual and special effects. Peter’s skills and experience working on many events televised live from the Palladium, combined with the large team of dedicated professionals from Crown Events, will maximise the full potential of the venue for clients at no extra charge.
In addition to the Palladium, the adjoining River and Garden Rooms have also been extensively refurbished to offer guests a range of distinctive styles and set-ups, from convention and meeting facilities, to the intimacy of a private club-like lounge.
Staging Connections’ Managing Director Bill Davidson said the Company’s approach to staging business events was to add value for clients who have a significant investment in venues such as the Palladium.
“Staging Connections, Australasia’s leading event production group, has been Crown’s onsite event services partner since it opened in 1997. We deliver a prompt, efficient event service model to Crown, and in turn, its many clients. Staging Connections is an established.
