New hotel booking site claims to save customers money with free re-booking service
A new hotel booking site claims to be able to save holidaymakers money by constantly scanning the price of their accommodation and giving them the option to cancel and rebook if the price drops up to 24 hours before their trip.
Pricerooms.com, which was launched by Jason Fry, the founder of trade accommodation supplier Alpharooms, also gives customers who’ve booked refundable hotels on other platforms the option to register their booking so it can scan its system for a better price.
Customers must become members to book via Facebook messenger or the private site.
CEO and co-founder Fry said the Pricerooms could ‘potentially’ save holidaymakers hundreds of pounds each year.
However, there is no guarantee that its rates will be lower than those of its competitors and in a quick comparison with Booking.com TravelMole found pricerooms’ rates were slightly higher.
Fry said: "I’m really excited by the potential of Pricerooms.com as we have a chance to make rooms cheaper for all concerned.
"We’ve developed a great platform with over 150,000 hotels at great prices, and the rebooking service is a great feature to ensure you never miss the best price for your booking."
Holidaymakers who have booked elsewhere can email their reservations to [email protected] to search for better deals and upgrades in the same hotel or different hotels within the same location.
Pricerooms.com also offers its users the added convenience of cancelling their existing bookings to offer a complete hotel-finding service.
Fry said Pricerooms charges hotels ‘industry standard’ rates of commission.
His earlier venture Alpharooms was sold to Telextext Holidays parent Truly Group in October 2016.
