New media introduced to online cruise training
Video, podcasts and vodcasts are being introduced to a redesigned online agent training programme by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
The new media is to feature as part of a re-launch of its Cruising For Excellence online training programme.
A revamped website is due to go live on May 23 offering travel agents more information on the Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises brands.
A newly-created Captain’s Zone aims to give agents the opportunity to continue their learning after completing the main course of Cadet, Purser and Captain levels.
Video, podcasts from June and vodcasts from July are designed to allow new training sessions to be incorporated monthly.
A Virtual Classroom from August will enable interaction online with trainers on both product and automation training.
With almost 7,000 already registered, of which nearly half have completed the course, Royal Caribbean wants to ensure more agents have increased knowledge to help sell cruises.
UK and Ireland managing director Robin Shaw said: “The revamped, new look Cruising For Excellence Online website provides a fun, interactive and blended way for agents to carry out their training, holding their attention and enabling them to dip in and out of the programme and finishing the course at a convenient time for them.
“We believe this new site really will take the training we provide to another level and hold a great platform for additions to our award winning programme.”
