New president for Disney Cruise Line
Cruise industry and Disney veteran Thomas Mazloum has taken over as Disney Cruise Line president, replacing Jeff Vahle who has moved to become president of Walt Disney World Resort.
Mazloum was senior vice president resort and transportation operations at Walt Disney World Resort, but had previously spent 15 years at Crystal Cruises, most recently as chief operating officer.
He first joined Disney in 1998 as a hotel director for Disney Cruise Line and returned in 2017.
Mazloum will also preside over Disney Vacation Club and Adventures by Disney, which, with cruises, form the Disney Signature Experiences portfolio.
"I am thrilled to continue my Disney career by joining the businesses renowned for providing personalized and uniquely Disney experiences and delivering world-class guest service,’ Mazloum said.
He previously oversaw 28 resort hotels at Walt Disney World and in his earlier stint at Disney Cruise Line he was instrumental in launching its second ship, Disney Wonder before going on to serve as the general manager of food and beverage and special events at Epcot.
Vahle, who had been president of Disney Signature Experiences for two years, succeeds Josh D’Amaro, who has been promoted to chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.
