New venue announced for Brisbane Expo in February 2010; Exhibitor and visitor interest remains strong for all expos
PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
16 APRIL 2009
The Adventure Travel & Backpackers Expo has announced that its next Brisbane expo is set for 27-28 February 2010 at the Sofitel Hotel in inner Brisbane. The previous expo in Brisbane was held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, but the organisers feel an inner city location right above central train station will add to the expos appeal through easy visitor access and better promotion of the expo in the CBD.
The Brisbane expo will run alongside the Sydney Expo (7-8 November 2009 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre) and the Melbourne Expo (21-21 February 2010 at the Royal Exhibition Building).
CEO, Andrew Paltridge says that exhibitor stand bookings for all expos are strong – “around the same as previous years, or even a little higherâ€.
“Also, our expo sponsors from the recently completed series have either signed up again for the 2009/10 series or indicated they will do so again.†Sponsors last year included STA Travel, YHA, Britbound and TNT Magazine.
Mr Paltridge added that visitors to the recent Melbourne expo appeared cashed up and wanting to travel:
“After analysing the visitor feedback forms from February’s Melbourne Expo, it’s clear that the majority of visitors are looking at travelling in the next 6-9 months and are telling us they have several thousand of dollars to spend. We tend to agree with recent comments from companies within the youth/adventure industry that this segment is still strong.
Mr Paltridge also announced that the expo logo has changed: “After 14 years of a logo featuring boots and sun, we have dropped the boots and generally modernized the whole look and feel:
“We are not only growing the business, but we are looking at ways to bring our exhibitors and visitors closer together throughout the year, not only at expo time. Many visitors are telling us that they want to be kept informed throughout the year, so we are rolling out ways to do this over the coming monthsâ€
