New York City tourism may not fully recover until 2025
A tourism rebound in New York City will begin mid-2021 but it could take up to four years after a vaccine to see tourism numbers reach pre-pandemic levels.
That is the pessimistic new forecast by NYC & Company. Tourism relies on foreign tourist arrivals and a full recovery of international source markets won’t happen until perhaps 2025. Encouraging tourists to come back to the Big Apple will be tough, with NYC & Company having cut half its workforce and had its funding cut.
