New Zealand not concerned about France trouble
Australians visiting France have been warned to be careful as riots continue to rock Paris and other major cities, but New Zealand’s foreign ministry has yet to follow suit.
An NZ Foreign Affairs Ministry spokeswoman said staff were monitoring the situation but were not planning to issue an advisory, as New Zealand tourists were unlikely to venture into the troubled immigrant areas.
Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer warned Australians the riots had the potential to get worse. “There have been violent riots including arson, looting and widespread damage to property from northern Paris . . . into other parts of Paris and now other cities in France.”
