Next boss in running to become easyJet chairman
The chairman of fashion retailer Next, John Barton, has emerged as a likely candidate to replace Sir Mike Rake who his due to step down as the chairman of easyJet this summer.
Sky News city editor Mark Klelnman said Barton was on a shortlist of contenders, although the board of easyjet has yet to announce its decision.
However, Sky speculated that the decision could be announced as early as this week. Other candidates to replace Sir Mike, who will become president of the CBI, include former Thomson Travel Group chief executive Charles Gurassa, who already sits on easyJet’s board as deputy chairman.
EasyJet declined to comment.
