Norwegian Breakaway ready for Broadway debut
The new 4,000-passenger Norwegian Breakaway will arrive in its home port of New York in May.
In keeping with its Big Apple location, the ship’s entertainment will include three Broadway shows: five-time Tony nominated Rock of Ages, the dance-themed Burn the Floor, and Cirque Dreams and Dinner Jungle Fantasy. The ship also will feature a 1980s-themed deck party climaxing with a fireworks show on every cruise.
Breakaway also boasts an open-air boardwalk, and a two-bedroom Family Villa and a Courtyard Penthouse with exclusive key card access to The Haven, an excusive area with a private restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a concierge desk. Haven guests also have direct, private access to the ship’s spa and fitness Center.
With signature hull artwork designed by Peter Max, the ship has been under construction since September 2011. It will arrive in New York in early May.
The Norwegian Breakaway will sail a series of 22 seven-day cruises from New York to Bermuda between May 12 and October 6, 2013. Departing on Sundays, the ship will spend three full days in Bermuda, and three at sea.
Norwegian Breakaway is part of Project Breakaway, a series of new mega ships from Norwegian Cruise Line. Her sister ship, the Norwegian Getaway, will debut next April in Boston.
