Norwich airport prepares for growth
Planned expansion of Norwich airport has led to two senior appointments being made.
Commercial and property director Tim Connor has been promoted to deputy managing director while Louise Wilkinson joins as head of marketing services after 19 years tourism and retail marketing experience.
The airport saw August passenger numbers hit a record 63,000, up 32% on the same month last year, and is projected to handle 600,000 in 2005-06. There are plans to expand the terminal to offer increased capacity.
Connor said: “The arrival of low cost airlines Flybe and Air Wales has seen further growth in the routes we offer and we have ambitions to extend our destination base in line with the increasing demands of local residents and buisnesses.”
Wilkinson said: “The challenge ahead is to manage the growth and ensure that we offer the flights and destinations people want.
“We are about to undertake a major research process and this will feed into the process.”
