NTA appoints China specialist to board of directors
The National Tour Association has appointed Harry Chen of California based Joy Holiday to serve on the NTA Board of Directors, filling a vacancy after a recent resignation.
Chen served on the board in 2014 and brings a wealth of experience in the key the Chinese group leisure market.
“I am grateful to be given the opportunity to continue serving on the board again this year,” said Chen.
“With 200-plus tour operators in its China Inbound Program, NTA has become a major hub for connecting operators with the mainstream industry providers.”
“This market is growing so fast—and in so many more U.S. destinations—Harry can help our board maximize members’ potential with Chinese visitors. His bicultural experience and insight will help NTA provide market leadership for the entire industry,” said NTA president Pam Inman.
China is the sixth biggest market for US inbound travel and is set to become number three, overtaking Brazil, Japan and the United Kingdom by 2019.
“We are gearing up to strengthen the future of the business environment and broaden the scope of the China market by addressing important issues that are beneficial for our members,” Chen added.
