NWA launching agent’s website
Northwest is launching a website for US agents to get access to the carrier’s web fares.
WorldAgent Direct, launching at the end of the month, will allow agents to book domestic flights on most of the routes served by Northwest and its codeshare partners. The rumours mentioned in the TravelMole story last week are correct, and agents will now have access to the same Northwest fares as websites like Orbitz.
Agents will not receive commissions for bookings made on the website. However, unlike American Airlines’ EveryFare programme, agents will not have to pay a fee to book the web fares.
Once registered, agents will receive monthly sales reporting through the Registered Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC). Only ARC-accredited agents will be able to register.
The website will also allow agents to view seat maps to request seats, check passengers in for their flight and monitor real-time flight information. Northwest will also keep agents up to date with agent incentive programmes and special offers sent via email.
