NZ ski resorts see deluge of cancellations from NSW
With parts of Sydney going into lockdown, New Zealand ski operators are reporting mass cancellations just as the New South Wales school holiday period kicks in. Queenstown Lakes ski fields have been flooded with cancellations with the trans-Tasman bubble on hold for NSW.
New South Wales is a major source market for Queenstown and the lockdown comes at the worst possible time. "We’re gutted to see the pause in quarantine free travel," said NZ Ski chief executive Paul Anderson.
Several areas of Sydney went into lockdown last Friday night.
