Oakley Travel signs Comtec White Label deal
Regional agency group Oakley Travel has signed up for Comtec’s Travel Agency White Label solution, giving its customers access to package holiday deals from the UK’s top 40 tour operators.
The County Durham based independent, which operates over 30 websites including internetholidays.com, says the pricing system should give its customers more confidence buying holidays over the web.
The solution, pioneered by Comtec’s commercial partner DTS (Digital Travel Services), provides consumers with direct access to operators’ reservations systems through agency websites, with agents earning commission on every booking.
Oakley Travel IT manager Les Calvert said: “The unrealistic prices displayed on some travel websites, compared with the final price paid for the holiday, have left many travellers feeling web-wary. By assuring customers they will only pay the price they see on our website, we expect to see bookings rocket.”
Comtec’s portfolio of solutions and services covers five core areas: travel agency management solutions, agency search systems, e-commerce, online content and Point of Sale (POS) solutions. The company recently announced the creation of two new business divisions – Strategic Accounts, headed by Steve Lowe and Business Development , led by Sally McCoid – which it says is designed to meet the expected doubling in size of its customer base from 10,000 to 20,000 agencies by the end of 2002.
