Oasis of the Seas goes on sale today
Cruises on Oasis of the Seas go on general sale today (September 3).
Scheduled to depart on its maiden voyage in December 2009, it is 40 per cent bigger than the world’s current largest cruise ship.
Its owners, Royal Caribbean International, are expecting interest from UK consumers on the first day of sales to be 50 per cent higher than its previous busiest-ever sales day.
It has drafted in additional reservations staff and senior managers to cope with the anticipated volume of booking enquiries.
Special events are taking place in high street agencies such as Thomson, Thomas Cook and First Choice across the UK and Ireland to mark the occasion.
Seamus Conlon, managing director of online cruise retailer www.CRUISE.co.uk said: “The internet buzz around Oasis of the Seas is already higher than we have ever seen before.
“Over 50 per cent of people who have visited www.CRUISE.co.uk this week have been looking at the new images and wonders of Oasis of the Seas.â€
Oasis of the Seas will operate out of Fort Lauderdale offering cruises in the Caribbean from £1,299 per person for a nine-night fly/cruise from the UK.
