Outrigger adds third property in Thailand
Outrigger Hotels and Resorts will manage the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort and Spa as its third hotel property in Thailand.
Outrigger assumed full sales and marketing responsibility for the resort on November 3 and will have complete operational control by November 1, 2012 at which time it will be rebranded as Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort and Spa.
In other hotel news, Aston International will no longer provide management services for the Grand Kuta Hotel and Residence on Bali. 


The three-star Grand Kuta was taken under the wing of the Aston group 18 months ago.
Aston International’s vice president of sales and marketing, Norbert Vas, said the company would be “reserving the Aston brand for four-star hotels while growing our mid-market Quest Hotels throughout Baliâ€.
He said there were also plans to expand the Quest network to Surabaya and Yogyakarta.
