Oyster cards available via Eurostar website

Visitors to the UK arriving by Eurostar will now be able to buy Oyster cards, attraction tickets, meals and accommodation guides before their leave their native soil.

The high-speed rail service will sell British tourism products on its website eurostar.com through a white-labelling agreement with VisitBritain.

The move will see travellers to the UK able to browse through 150 different products ranging from accommodation guides to touring passes to transport tickets.

Director of commercial and marketing services at VisitBritain Kenny Boyle said: “With increasing competition from destinations around the world, Britain must take every opportunity to remain ahead of the crowd. Our ambition is to help all parts of the industry improve their profitability and widen awareness of all that can be enjoyed on a business or leisure trip here.”

Director of communications at Eurostar Simon Montague: said: “Eurostar.com is now a real one-stop shop for visitors planning a trip to the UK. Buying Oyster cards or museum tickets in advance can really help visitors make the most of their holiday and ensures they can start enjoying Britain as soon as they arrive.”
