Passenger gets VIP flight to Crete for just £46
A Jet2 passenger was given VIP treatment after two others who’d also booked seats on the airline’s last flight of the season from Glasgow to Crete failed to show up.
Author Karen Grieve who paid £46 for her ticket, had the entire plane to herself, was able to pick her own seat, and even received a free meal on the four-hour flight.
The pilot provided her with a personalised commentary of the route, addressing her over the intercom by name, and she was handed her luggage straight from the hold when she landed.
The flight was heading to Crete to pick up 189 passengers at the end of the season, while Ms Grieve was planning to stay on the island for a month.
A Jet2 spokesman said: "We’re delighted Karon got to experience our VIP customer service in style.
‘It is not unusual for the final outbound flight of the season to have fewer bookings than normal. We hope Karon has a fantastic time in Crete."
Ms Grieve took the same flight last year, when there were only eight passengers onboard.
