Passengers warned of ‘mass disruption’ on train services to Gatwick
Passengers heading to and from Gatwick Airport from central London are being warned their journeys will take up to 45 minutes longer this morning following the evacuation of London Victoria train station during rush hour.
A notice on the Gatwick Express website said "mass disruption" was expected due to a fire on a train. National Rail said trains were unable to run to or from the station until further notice.
The fire had been extinguished by 0745 but there was lingering smoke, preventing passengers from using the station.
Alternative Transport for those affected:
SouthEastern will accept Southern tickets between London Bridge and Charing Cross
.
South West Trains will accept Southern tickets between Clapham Junction and Waterloo
.
First Capital Connect will accept Southern tickets between East Croydon and London Bridge
.
LOROL will accept Southern tickets
.
London Underground will accept Southern tickets on any reasonable route
