Penguins to strut their stuff on desert ski slope
Just when we thought Dubai couldn’t come up with any more bizarre attractions, it has announced it is bringing penguins to its indoor ski dome.
Not usually seen waddling around ski resorts – at least not any that we’ve been to – these birds will nevertheless be strutting their stuff in Ski Dubai.
A spokeswoman said she wasn’t sure how many, or what breed of penguin, would be taking up roost in the ski dome, but she said they will be going out on daily parades from February.
They are being flown to Middle East dome in the desert from SeaWorld in San Diego, which is the world leader in penguin conservation.
"It’s very exciting and they will be looked after properly," added the spokeswoman. Let’s hope so.
